Life : Multi-talented?

I found a quote a little while back that said "there's no such thing as a Jack-of-all-Trades" and I really disagree with that.

A Jack-of-all-Trades is a person who is good at a lot of things.  It can be anything from super common everyday stuff, to the weird, wacky and abstract.  It just means a person who has the talent to do a lot of different things.

According to this article (Here), there is no such thing as a professional artist that can wear the title "Jack-of-all-Trades".

But riddle me this;

Chris Oatley, an animator and concept artist at Disney Studios, says that you have to have a strong sketch to have a strong painting.  Painting and drawing are two different mediums, but you have to be good at both?
Sounds like more than one talent to me.

A lot of people I know do traditional drawing, traditional animating, 3D modeling, and 3D animation.  Sure it's based on the same concept, but they're completely different things.  Being able to draw the different poses and being able to position the model are largely different and require different skills.

I really believe that being an artist almost automatically makes you a Jack-of-all-Trades.  With one skill comes and another and another and another. It's basically a package deal.

That's just my opinion though.
