Conventions : CTN day 4

So, it's been like 6 months, let's see what I can remember.

Honestly, the most amazing thing that happened the last day was going to church. I was SO mad when everyone decided to go to church. I went because I felt like I was obligated to in order to keep my mormon card.

Turns out I'm an idiot.

The first sign was when we're driving to church and we passed Disney, and Warner Brothers, AND Nickelodeon and probably some others but gosh I was so busy gushing that I forgot.
Seriously, If you're passing the big rigs, you're in the good part of town. I started to get annoyed at this point because I thought 'stupid people wanna go to church instead of networking asdf' but I bit the bullet and went.
Church was boring, it was another day at church, although we did get a shoutout from the Bishop who said "we'd like to welcome our friends, particularly those interested in animation". Seriously, we took up like 2 rows so you kind of had to notice us. As soon as the meeting was over, I bolted out to the cars as fast as I could and sat there bouncing on my toes waiting for the professors who never came.
Eventually my classmates and I went looking for them.
We found them networking in the chapel.
Evidently if you pass the big rig companies on your way to church, there's bound to be a few animators in the ward. Go figure.

I learned that lesson loud and clear: if you go to church and do what you're supposed to, you'll be rewarded.

We went back to the convention and talked to lots of people. And a few companies.
Specifically Laika.
I'm kicking myself now because I realize what I showed to them was crap, but everyone starts somewhere. BUT in spite of that, they told me my sketchbook looked good. And that they liked my Panic puppet, which looks rather silly now but I was SUPER proud of it then.
The recruiter said I had a chance at an internship though so I'm crossing my fingers!

After that everyone decided they wanted to split so we hit the road and got to Vegas around 1 am. Maybe 12. It was late.

The next day we woke up at 6 and made it to school in time to preach to the class about how sweet CTN was.

I'm so stoked for the next one, I'm gonna be ready this time.
